  EnglishLink English Vocabulary: Prefixes

Tip:
Tiền tố đứng trước một từ còn hậu tố đứng sau từ đó.

Prefixes are small, but meaningful, letter groups added before a base or root word which changes the meaning of the word.

Knowing the meaning of these prefixes together with the meaning of common base words, will give you the tools to know the meaning of hundreds of words.

But be very careful, because often what appears to be a prefix is not a prefix at all. Note also that this list does not include elements like "auto-" or " bio-", because these are "combining forms", not prefixes.
